Kelly Cutrone and Illamasqua’s charity, S.O.P.H.I.E!

Exciting news must always be shared right? So here goes… The amazing New York PR powerhouse and founder of People’s Revolution, Kelly Cutrone is coming to Melbourne! Can I get a OMG? OMGGGGG!!!!!!!!

Kelly will be here with beauty brand Illamasqua to help promote The S.O.P.H.I.E. Lancaster Foundation, which launched in Australia last week.

Here is some info regarding The S.O.P.H.I.E. Lancaster Foundation:

In 2007, young British Goth, Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend, Rob Maltby, were savagely beaten by a gang of youths, simply because they chose to dress differently. Tragically Sophie later died in hospital and Robert has been left with permanent injuries.

Following Sophie’s death, her mother, Sylvia Lancaster, along with friends and family set up The S.O.P.H.I.E. Lancaster Foundation. The foundation has one key aim, to ‘Stamp Out Prejudice, Hatred and Intolerance, Everywhere.’ Since 2007, they have campaigned tirelessly in the UK to change attitudes within society and to promote tolerance, understanding and respect for all subcultures. This is done through a combination of working closely with the government, the Foundation’s own education scheme in schools, and via its link with cult beauty brand, Illamasqua.
.

To celebrate the launch of S.O.P.H.I.E, Kelly Cutrone will be doing a book signing of her hit memoir, “If You Have to Cry, Go Outside, and Other Things Your Mother Never Told You” on Wednesday, March 23rd at 5.30pm at the Illamasqua counter in Myer Melbourne City.

Also, if you purchase any 2 Illamasqua products, you will receive a copy of Kelly’s book for free and she’ll sign it for you. Illamasqua will then then donate all the proceeds from the value of the book to the S.O.P.H.I.E Lancaster foundation. I am going to be there with bells on and really hope those of you in Melbourne will be able to join me for such an exciting event, which will raise awareness and support for an amazing charity.

If you aren’t able to make it on the night or for more information on how you can support The S.O.P.H.I.E. Lancaster Foundation please check out their websiteFacebookTwitter, and of course Illamasqua.

I’m going to leave you one of my all time favourite quotes, which I think resonates beautifully with the mssage of S.O.P.H.I.E.

“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” — Coco Chanel

Oh my gosh, Kelly Cutrone is my absolute idol. I’m so jealous of anyone who is going to see her while she is here.
One of my favourite quotes from her book – “Gather up your courage like an armful of free clothes at a McQueen sample sale and follow your inner voice wherever it takes you”.
