Face of Australia Face Base Primer & Translucent Loose Powder!

The Face of Australia Face Base Primer and Translucent Loose Powder have become my current go-to items when applying make up. I adore both products and when used together, they make a major power duo. They’re more powerful than Brangelina. Better looking too? 😉
Face of Australia Face Base Primer*
Oh. Em. Gee. I LOVE this primer! It has a lightweight, gel like formula with a nice subtle fresh scent. It feels amazing on the skin, very soothing and also quite hydrating. It glides on well, and creates a wonderfully smooth and semi matte base for your makeup. Apparently the primer helps to diffuse fine lines and wrinkles but I don’t really see much of a change, admittedly though I don’t have a real problem with lines as yet. I do, however, notice a huge difference in how my make up looks when applied over this primer. My foundation looks super smooth, even and fresh. As the primer is so soft and helps to lock in moisture, it would be especially great for those with dry skin, but since it’s also oil-free, everyone can use it! Oh and trust me, everyone needs to be using this! It also contains chamomile and vitamin E, to help protect and brighten your skin so you got to love that. Hmm… and I’ll let you onto a little secret here… this little beauty is basically the NARS Primer in disguise! Yes, thats right! I may even go as far as saying it is BETTER than the NARS Primer! So shocking I know, considering what a NARS fan girl I am. It’s the truth though as I find that the FOA Primer makes my makeup last much longer, it lasts a whole 8 hour day in fact, whereas the NARS Primer only works for around 5 hours. It’s also only a fraction of the price. Amazeballs 😀
Face of Australia Translucent Loose Powder*
A light, soft translucent powder that works like a treat to set your foundation. It’s a creamy beige colour in the pot, but applies smoothly and translucent on the skin. I adore this powder, it takes away any oily shine and because it’s so finely milled, it doesn’t look cakey or make you look too matte, so my foundation still looks dewy just the way I like. What’s also great about this is that because it isn’t a white coloured powder, darker skinned beauties don’t have to worry about this looking dusty on their skin tones. I just use a fluffy powder brush (ie. MAC 150) to apply this, after I apply foundation or as a finishing touch once I’ve applied all my make up. This has actually replaced my beloved MAC MSF Natural when it comes to setting my foundation! Love <3 <3

Face of Australia Face Base Primer and Translucent Loose Powder are available now at all FOA stockists, and both retail for $11.95 AUD.

Those are my two top picks from FOA as well.
You should try out their eye primers, pretty nice without being greasy or creasy 🙂

These sound great, I’m still unconvinced about primers (I’ve yet to try one that actually makes a difference) but at that price I’m willing to try another. I also love a translucent powder that doesn’t make me look even paler than usual.

@Kimberley – I think it’s almost a love/hate relationship with people and primers lol. I highly recommend you try this one out though, and if it doesn’t work for you then maybe it’s not meant to be, and you’ll have one less step when it comes to applying your make up 🙂

    Hi there,

I really like your blog 🙂

I have read so many great things about the FOA primer… and have been searching for it for the past few days… It’s driving me CRAZY!

Neither my local Priceline nor Target seem to stock FOA anymore 🙁

    The search continues!
