MoroccanOil Luminious Hairspray!

The MorrocanOil Luminous Hairspray is one of the best hairsprays I've ever tried. Yep, truthfully. Just go buy it.

Lol if that statement wasn't enough reason to run out to the store then let me give you some more :)

This is the first hairspray that I've come across that actually focuses on improving the condition of your hair rather than just as a product to keep hold. Thanks to power ingredients such as Argan Oil, it is humidity and frizz resistant, and gives your hair a lovely, glossy shine.

It is a flexible hold, so if your looking for something to hold up your mohawk then this isn't for you. This hairspray holds hair in place yet still gives it nice body and movement. I use it daily to add volume to my roots or to keep curls bouncy depending on my 'do for the day. There is no stickiness or build up and best of all, it doesn't leave any icky white particles!

It smells lovely. Most hairsprays have quite an unpleasant odor but not this one. To me it smells like baby powder so it's nice and almost relaxing. The scent isn't overbearing and wont clash with your perfume, instead it keeps your hair smelling fresh and clean.

Finally, call me crazy but the word "luminous" just screams out to my inner highlighter addict, so I was all over it as soon as I heard the name!

This product was sent to me for consideration, but I will be buying it over and over again. Available at various hair salons for $34.95 AUD.

Illamasqua Powder Blush - Lover!

Illamasqua is fast becoming one of my favourite make up brands, and with a slogan like "make up for your alter ego" you would expect nothing less than amazing products. Well Illamasqua's powder blush in Lover is exactly that... AMAZING! It seriously ticks all the boxes - colour, pigmentation, texture and staying powder.

Illamasqua describes Lover as a "vibrant apricot" which I would agree is what it looks like in the pan. Once swiped on the cheeks though, magic happens. You get a fresh, flawless coral glow without even trying. It's almost like "my cheeks, but better"... way, way better! Lover is perfect on those days where you can't be bothered to think. You just know this will look fabulous with anything and everything, but it's especially lovely when paired with a dark eye.

The pigmentation of their products is definitely one of Illamasqua's strong suits. Just one light swipe of Lover and I'm good to go. The texture is amazing too, so delicate and smooth that it blends like a dream. It is matte finish but not at all chalky or powdery, and it pretty much lasts all day. I'm totally in love with Lover!

Wearing Illamasqua's Lover paired with Dior Amber Diamond shimmer powder
Available at all Illamasqua counters in Myer or online. RRP $42 AUD. Take advantage of Illamasqua's Amnesty (ending Jan 31st) and trade in any old/used/boring make up item, to receive an awesome 25% off your Illamasqua purchases :)

Burlesque!

Ok so last week, the lovely Dea was lucky enough to win a competition to see an advanced screening of Burlesque thanks to Kit Cosmetics and Smashbox. And guess who she invited to go along with her?! Meeeee! THANKS SOOO MUCH DEA!!!

The event was held at the Hoyts Director's Suite in Melbourne Central. It started off with a drink upon arrival at the bar, where the lovely Kit MUA's were giving mini make overs!

So of course, I had a little touching up done and here's the finished look. Please forgive the quality of the photo, I hurriedly took this in the bathroom using my iphone lol.

The MUA applied a shimmery, champagne coloured shadow on my brow bone and along my cheek bones. Then applied a pretty pink blush onto my cheeks. On the lips she used the Smashbox Lip Tech in Sangria and topped it with the lipgloss in Tease, which was a bright looking red in the tube but I really like how it turned out on my lips!

After all the makeovers we headed up to the theatre, where we were took our seats and were offered a complementary popcorn or choc top (woohoo!). I always have so much fun in the directors suite, the chairs are so comfy!

We also received goodie bags which contained:
  • Jonathan Aston 'Burlesque' Fishnet Stockings
  • Samples of the O-Gloss, Photo Finish Primer and Photo Op Under Eye Brightener
  • A voucher for a Burlesque inspired makeover at Kit, with the Smashbox Burlesque collection.

I have a major soft spot for musicals and Burlesque did not disappoint. I LOVED every minute of it. The make up, the costumes and Christina's voice were all just WOW. Yep... WOW! If you haven't seen this yet, please go check it out. Trust me, you'll be in awe of the flawless make up and drooling over Ali's sparkley Louboutins!

Thank you so much to Kit Cosmetics for such a fun night, and of course to Dea for inviting me!

Dea and moi :)

FOTD - NARS Okinawa Eyeshadow Trio!!

NARS is one of my favourite make up brands, and when the Okinawa eyeshadow trio was released in their Holiday 2010 collection, it was definitely calling my name! The trio combines a light silver with a shimmery finish, a gorgeous blue with a slight shimmer, and an inky black with a satin sheen. Ok so honestly, the colours aren't terribly unique but what sets Okinawa apart, is the rich pigmentation and the super smooth, buttery texture of the shadows. Seriously, is it an understatement for me to say that applying these shadows is like heaven. They are so soft, making them easy to blend and the pigmentation is just WOW. A little goes a long, long way! Also, the convenience of having them in one compact palette is a huge plus.

Anyway, enough from me. I think these pics may just speak for themselves :)

This trio is a real winner! It's is so quick and easy to use, and I think blue/silver eyeshadows would definitely suit most skin tones.

Eyes using the NARS Okinawa Trio.
First I applied the silver colour all over the lid using a MAC 239 brush. Then using a MAC 217 brush, I applied the blue shade into the outer corner and crease, blending into the silver. I also applied the blue onto the lower lash line with a Sigma E20 brush bringing it 2/3 of the way in. Then taking the same 239 brush I applied the silver onto the lower lash line over the blue shadow. Lastly I smudged the black shadow onto the upper lash line with a MAC 219.

As the eyes are on the dark-ish side, I left the rest of my face quite neutral. I think light pinks work very well with blue shadow, so on my cheeks I used Smashbox's Blush Rush in Flush. For the lips, I used NARS Cruising lipstick topped with NARS Ophelia lipgloss.

Officially part of the LOB club!

Ok so after having long hair for YEARS, I finally decided it was time for a change. About 5 inches of change.

I cannot tell you how hard my heart was pounding when my hairdresser (Sally from Sui in Mebourne's CBD) took that first snip at my hair. It was seriously terrifying, but I am now soooooo happy I finally got the chop.

I LOVE MY NEW HAIR :D

Lush Lip Scrub - Sweet Lips!

Chocolate, check. Sugar, check. Good for your lips, double check.

Don't you love a product that's sweet and sugary but you don't feel guilty about using it? Well, that's exactly what you get with Lush's Lip Scrubs. They're fresh handmade sugar scrubs containing fantastic ingredients, such as Jojoba oil, vanilla and castor sugar to gently exfoliate and moisturize your smackers, leaving them soft and flake free!

I use this as part of my evening skin care routine, a few times a week. All you need to do is moisten your lips with warm water, apply some Lip Scrub to a soft toothbrush (or just use your finger) and gently scrub your lips in small circular motions, rinse then apply a good lip balm. Tuck yourself into bed, and you'll wake up with supple, kissable lips ;)

Hmm just thinking... What if I put a teaspoon of this in my coffee? Yum!

Available at all LUSH stores and online. RRP $9.95

NARS Multiple in Copacabana!

At the Copa, Copacabanaaa... Whenever I think of this NARS Multiple I always feel the need to sing that song. It's good though as it helps wake me up in the mornings lol

I'm a huge fan of the NARS Multiples and Copacabana is at the top of my love list. It is a luminous white with a silver sheen, that just gives your skin the most amazing GLOW. Multiples are super convenient as they come in a compact, lipstick-like tube and I love their cream to powder texture! Best of all, they are super easy to use! Just swipe it where needed and blend out with your fingers. It seriously blends flawlessly and oh so smoothly, and a little goes a long way :)

Copacabana is best used as a highlighter, so I like to apply it to the tops of my cheek bones, under the brow and down the centre of my nose. It leaves a gorgeous, iridescent sheen, without being overly glittery or looking cakey.

Heavy swatch :)
I purchased this online over at Kiss and Makeup for $38USD but it is also available here in Australia at all Mecca Cosmetica stores.

PS. HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Hope everyone had a magnificent break and enjoyed their holidays :)
