I'm going on holiday... So what's in my travel makeup bag?!

If you follow me on Twitter you'll know that I've been talking non-stop about my upcoming adventure to the USA. Well the time has come and as this post goes live, I should be boarding a plane on my way there! :D

I am soooo excited about this trip. It's my first time to mainland America, I've only previously been to Hawaii where I actually got to celebrate my 11th birthday. So I can't wait to see all the touristy sights such as Disneyland, Vegas, the Statue of Liberty, Alcatraz etc and of course all the SHOPPING! I'm not called a shopaholic for nothing you know lol

So here's what's in my travel make up bag... It's probably more than I should really bring since I'm usually pretty lazy about applying make up when I'm on holiday and I'll also be purhasing a bucket load of cosmetics over there but I do like to be prepared for any occasion!

  • Missha BB Cream No. 23 - It's super hot in the US at the moment, so I'll probably stick to wearing BB cream rather than foundation during the day. Plus this has the added bonus of SPF 42+!
  • Chanel Prolumiere Foundation
  • Face of Australia Face Base Primer
  • Urban Decay Naked Palette - Great colours that can take me from day to night
  • MAC Eyeshadow Quad (Blanc Type, All That Glitters, Soft Brown & Satin Taupe) - My essential MAC colours that have no dupes in the Naked Palette.
  • MAC MSF Natural
  • NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base
  • NARS Laguna Bronzer and Orgasm Blush Duo
  • NARS Albatross Highlighter
  • NARS Dolce Vita Blush
  • Covergirl LashBlast Fusion Mascara
  • Maybelline Line Stiletto Liquid Liner
  • Prestige Ultimate Brow Definer
  • Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm
  • Chanel Rivage Rouge Coco Shine Lipstick
  • Tom Ford Pink Dusk Private Blend Lip Colour
  • MAC Hug Me Lipstick
  • Illamasqua Divine Sheer Gloss
Well that's it, I'm off for a few weeks and I'll be back in posting mode late September!

À bientôt :)

Korres Wild Rose Instant Brightening Mask!

Face masks are a girl's best friend when it comes to skincare. They're great for deep cleansing and to help to reduce oil, hydrate or give your skin an extra boost of moisture, radiance or just for maintenance.

The Korres Wild Rose Mask is one of those masks that helps give your skin an oomph of radiance. After you apply it, you can immediately see brighter, fresher skin. I use this mask probably once a week and while I can't say the brightening properties last long. I do love the noticeable illuminating glow it gives after you use it. It's definitely a great mask to pop on before a special occasion or event as it will help to give you beautiful photo ready skin!

The consistency of the this mask is lovely. So smooth and creamy, and it feels light on. I also love the faint rose scent the mask has, it's quite soothing. It doesn't dry out on the skin like some other masks I've tried, and once washed off, my face feels hydrated and clean. You only need a small amount for the whole face too, apply it with your fingers or with a soft brush - I use the EcoTools Foundation brush. The Korres Wild Rose Mask contains power ingredients such as wild rose oil, a natural source of vitamin C, which helps to promote cell renewal and repair lines/wrinkles, as well as avocado butter, shea butter and other herbal extracts which all help to lighten skin discolourations and brighten the skin. LOVE!

Mask mug shot... Um, hello female casper?! Haha

The Korres Wild Rose Mask is available now at Mecca Maxima and all Kit Cosmetics stores/counters.

Christian Dior 'DiorKiss 578' Dior Addict Lipstick!

Whoa there's a lot of Dior in that title... Well the amount of Dior's is probably testament to how amazing this lipstick is!

Diorkiss from Christian Dior's Dior Addict range is one gorgeous lipstick. It's a stunning candy pink, bright but perfect for everyday! It's the type of colour that once applied instantly wakes up the face and I think it would also look great on most skintones. As with the other Dior Addict lipsticks, Diorkiss has a lovely creamy yet sheer texture with a high shine finish. They're similar to the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine lipsticks, but these are more pigmented so better for wearing alone rather layering over another lippie. Also since these are more pigmented, lasting power is great too! I get a good couple few hours wear before having to reapply. This lipstick looks and feels fabulous on and it glides on like a dream for a perfect Diorkiss pout with one swipe!

For my FOTD I was actually going to recreate the above Kate Moss promo pic as she is wearing DiorKiss in it, however as you can see she's not smiling in the picture and whilst I did try to do the same expression, I just end up looking either bored or angry if I don't smile! So let's just call my pic "Kate Moss inspired" lol.

Estée Lauder Modern Mercury Illuminating Powder Gelée!

The new Modern Mercury Collection from Estee Lauder, created by make up genius Tom Pecheux, is an amazing showcase of products with a focus on rich metallic eyes and soft glowy skin. Now most of you know that illuminators are definitely my weakness when it comes to make up, so it was only natural that my heart went a flutter for the new Illuminating Powder Gelée in Modern Mercury!

Blended out and heavy swatch
The Modern Mercury Illuminating Powder Gelée is a one-of-a-kind powder, gel and liquid formula illuminator. Now the tri-blend texture may sound strange but try this baby out and it'll be a total "oh yeah" moment. The texture is beautifully light, smooth and buttery! The pearly shimmer is what gets me though, super pigmented and so finely milled that it just melts onto your skin, giving you that wonderful lit from within look. The colour is very pretty too, a warm pinky champagne, yet it adjusts with the light and how you apply it. Meaning that it's quite flattering on all skin tones and can be used everywhere on the face! Use it on the high points of the face, on the eyes, or all over for a pearly glow, paler beauties could even use it as a blush/highlighter combo. The Illuminating Powder Gelée is truly stunning, and since it's limited edition, I highly suggest you check this out stat!

Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads!

Being a beauty addict blogger, I often try a lot of different skincare products in my quest for perfect skin. Some I like, some I hate, some I'm indifferent about, but today, I want to talk about something I love. My newest holy grail skincare product - the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads, and they are AMAZING!

Now you're probably thinking... "Jess, I've seen your FOTD pics. You don't have wrinkles". Well yes, that's true (thank god!) but as they always say prevention is better than a cure, so I was all over these when I first heard about them. The Peel Pads' fabulous combination of power ingredients gently exfoliate the skin, stimulate cell turnover, and protect skin from environmental damage. So not only do they target wrinkles, they are super effective at improving the texture of your skin, helping to even out skintone and tighten pores.

The pads are designed to act as a gentle face peel, suitable for everyday use depending on your skin type. They are really easy to use too. After removing your make up at night, just grab one of the pads, wipe it all over your face avoiding the eye area, leave on for 1-3mins, and then rinse off! It will feel slightly tingly when applied, but I don't find it at all uncomfortable or irritating. Each container contains 60 pads so it's good for approximately 2 months if used on a daily basis. I have oily/combination skin and at first I used the Peel Pads everyday, but now I've found that I only need to use them around 3-4 times a week.

Since I started using these Peel Pads over 3 months ago, I have noticed a wonderful improvement in my skin's texture, skintone and overall appearance. My skin used to be quite rough with small bumps but I hardly have any now, and my pores have significantly reduced in size especially around my nose area. I get less breakouts, and dark spots/scarring left from previous breakouts have also faded faster too. I love the Peter Thomas Roth Un-Wrinkle Peel Pads and have since purchased a new container, they have definitely become an integral part of my skincare routine!

Now I'm very eager to try the rest of his skincare range! Have you tried anything from Peter Thomas Roth?

Available now at all Kit Cosmetics counters/stores and online, RRP AU$56.95.
